MEET K.L. BROWN
Meet K.L. Brown—the soulful singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Houston, Texas, known for his heartfelt blend of Soul, R&B, and Folk. Born Kaleb Brown, he began his musical journey at the age of 10 and has since developed a sound that is both timeless and deeply personal. Drawing inspiration from iconic artists like Marvin Gaye, and contemporary voices such as Stephen Day and Allen Stone, Brown’s music resonates with authenticity and emotional depth.

K.L.’s path into music began with the trombone and bass guitar, instruments that laid the foundation for his rhythmic and melodic sensibilities. His passion for music expanded during his time as an elementary school music teacher, where the spark for songwriting first ignited. That passion led him to pursue formal training at the renowned Berklee College of Music, where he earned a Bachelor of Music in Songwriting (Cum Laude) and studied under some of the industry's most respected mentors.

Now an active performer and songwriter, K.L. Brown continues to share his craft both on and off the stage. He also gives back to the next generation of musicians as an educator at MAT (Music School of Texas), where he teaches piano, guitar, and voice.
His debut single, “Bella” (2023), received glowing praise and was handpicked for a listening session with Allen Stone at Berklee—a testament to his growing impact in the indie soul scene. His latest release, “Changing” (2024), is a poignant track that showcases his gift for storytelling and melody. With lyrics that explore themes of personal transformation and renewal, the song solidifies his place as a powerful voice in contemporary music.

A Man of Faith
K.L. Brown is not just a gifted musician but also a man of deep faith. During his breaks from school, he returns to his hometown of Houston to serve as a worship leader and musician at his parents' church. His passion for music is matched by his love for God, and he finds joy in sharing his talents to uplift others in worship.
Even while away at school, Brown remains committed to his faith. As a Berklee/BOCO InterVarsity Chapter student leader, he leads Bible study, prayer, and worship, inspiring his fellow students to deepen their relationships with God. His favorite scripture, Psalm 34:18 NIV, speaks to his belief in God's compassion for those who are struggling: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
With his musical talent and unwavering faith, K.L. Brown is a true inspiration and bright light to aspiring musicians and music lovers worldwide.
